Allseas owner and president Edward Heerema confirmed that the building schedule at the Keppel Verolme yard in the Netherlands has slipped a few months, but he remained confident that the delays will not have a significant impact on the viability of the 250 million euro ($315 million) project.
Heerema, who unveiled his bold and speculative plan in June 2005, had initially hoped to get the converted vessel ready for action by mid-2006, but six months ago the delivery date was put back to 1 October this year.
