The co-operation deal is part of a memorandum of understanding signed in April. The new group is intended to allow for the exchange of expertise between the companies for oil exploration and production, Gazprom Neft president Alexander Dyukov said.
Statoil Russia president Kristoffer Maro said: “The memorandum of understanding with Gazprom Neft is an important building block in our pursuit of seeking exploration and production opportunities, not only in Russia.”
