Colombia’s government has set its sights on a pair of LNG import terminal projects on the Pacific and Caribbean coasts.

The Mines and Energy Ministry has latched onto two private sector proposals at the cities of Cartagena de Indias and Buenaventura.

Ministry officials are gearing up to launch a competition to identify the most economical development solutions.

The process is expected to take four months, according to the ministry’s Regulatory Commission for Energy and Gas (CREG).
