US terminal operator Freeport LNG is boosting the capacity of its proposed Texas liquefaction project by 50%.
The company said it is now aiming for 12 million tonnes per annum, up from an original target of 8 million tpa.
Freeport LNG has told regulators it now intends to build three 4 million tpa production trains at its Gulf Coast import terminal. Documents show the company has also turned to Air Products for the liquefaction technology.
