Hoegh LNG will take a final investment decision on its proposed UK import terminal early next year.
The Norwegian company has now received all the main approvals for the 1.2 billion cubic feet per day Port Meridian project in Morecambe Bay, Barrow-in-Furness. Sanction will come in either the first or second quarters of 2010.
A senior Hoegh official said negotiations with potential partners and off-takers have now begun in earnest.
