Repsol said the discovery at the Ouriynskoye field, on the border between the Khanty-Mansiysk and Sverdlovsk regions, was made following the drilling of the Gabi-1 and Gabi-3 exploration wells.
“The use of modern seismic techniques to detect these resources has allowed Repsol to make these significant finds in a relatively unexplored area of West Siberia,” the company said.
The exploration and development licence for the field is held by Yevrotek-Yugra, in which Repsol’s wholly-owned subsidiary Yevrotek has held a 74.9%
