The two Keppel Fels-built rigs, known under the names of Pyotr Hodovanets and Nezalizhnost before the Russian annexation of the peninsula from Ukraine last year, were stationed at the Odesskoye shallow-water gas field, which is in the active development phase.

The rigs were paid for and delivered to Chernomorneftegaz by its then-parent company, Ukraine’s state-owned Naftohaz Ukrainy, between 2012 and 2013 at an estimated total cost of $650 million.
