The test work has now been completed and the results are being analysed by the Norwegian state-run operator together with Songa, with a conclusion to be reached within the next few weeks, a Statoil spokesman informed Upstream.
It follows an assessment by Statoil of all 15 semi-submersible units in its rig portfolio to establish whether they will require modifications ahead of the winter drilling season, though model testing is not currently planned for other rigs.
