New technology centre aims to 'unlock North Sea'

The opening of the UK’s new £180 million ($225 million) Oil & Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) – intended to “help unlock the full potential of the UK North Sea” -- is set to be celebrated in Aberdeen later on Friday.

Government ministers will join city officials and leaders from industry and universities at the official opening of the centre – a core part the £250 million Aberdeen City Region Deal, which is seeing the UK and Scottish governments invest jointly in the region.
