PetroSA is in the market for a contractor to carry out feasibility studies and then front-end engineering and design on a floating storage and regasification unit (FRSU).
A conceptual study completed last year concluded that an FSRU with a breakwater and berth structure is the preferred solution.
As with previous plans, the imported gas will also be fed to the nearby Gourikwa power station, operated by state-owned utility Eskom.
