Director of Hydrocarbons Jean-Jacques Atchade said he expects four wells to be drilled in the shallow waters this year and three exploration and development wells around the now-defunct Seme field on Block 1 held by Nigerian independent South Atlantic Petroleum (Sapetro), targeting oil from the hitherto unproduced Horizon 6.
Archean Energy plans to drill a wildcat on Block 3 this year, followed by another on Block 2 in 2009, while the Anadarko Petroleum and Kosmos Energy tie-up aims to complete a data review soon following last year's Sota-1 duster on Block 4, before determining the position of their next target.
