The Chissonga-2 probe was drilled downdip of Maersk’s earlier Chissonga-1 well in Block 16, acreage sandwiched between prolific blocks 17, 17/06, 15 and 15/06, which has yet to host an economically viable discovery.
Located in 1355 metres of water, the appraisal well was drilled to a total depth of 6052 metres.
One production test was conducted in turbidites of Oligocene age, flowing 6650 barrels per day of 36 degrees API crude on a 36/64-inch choke.
