The pipeline in Subang, West Java exploded just before 6am on 28 August killing three people, including two children, in a nearby house and injured at least four others.
The fire that followed the pipeline blast spread for about 50 metres, while flames reportedly reached between 50 and 100 metres in height. The fire was brought under control after three hours and a later examination showed excavated soil below the leaking area and some tools believed to have been used to steal the fuel.
