Two analysts had told Reuters on Thursday that rising steel costs hit the rig’s budget, raising costs by another $83 million to $88 million, compared to previous estimates.
‘Ensco 8504 costs on track’
US driller Ensco International said estimated building costs on its newest semi-submersible rig, Ensco 8504, would come in at $515 million, contrary to some expectations of cost overruns on the project.
