The ship, managed by Odfjell Drilling, is currently working for BG Group offshore Tanzania.
Project partner Pancontinental Oil & Gas said Apache was planning to spud a planned well on the project during the third quarter of this year, with the actual date depending on when the drilling rig is finished with its current operations.
The joint venture’s first well on the block, a wildcat, will reach a planned total depth of 3250 metres in water depths of 860 metres, and is expected to take between 45 and 60 days to complete, Pancontinental said.
