The Petroleum Amendment Bill is aimed at addressing gaps in the current regulatory framework in the Territory which were identified in an independent report.
The proposed amendments would require companies to show the risk of environmental damage from their fracking operations is “acceptable” and “as low as reasonably practicable”.
