The joint venture with BRCP and Asperbras is the first of its kind between a Chinese oil company and Brazilian companies in the oil equipment manufacturing sector, CNPC said in an announcement.
As Upstream reported last week, the joint venture will see the companies work together to build a rig plant in Salvador, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, and is expected to become operational in October.
