The EG7 well was drilled by Rowan Gorilla III jack-up rig in 34 metres of water, following on from successful drilling results at the nearby EG8 well.
Bayfield will drill the well to a total depth of 2586 metres, planning to deviate to the south east to investigate Lower Pliocene to Upper Miocene stacked shallow marine sandstone reservoirs previously encountered.
