Bechtel, in co-operation with supermajor ConocoPhillips, has been involved in detailed engineering and procurement for the Angola LNG liquefaction train since early last year.

“The first LNG production is slated for early 2012,” said Jose Ivo, Bechtel’s project director.

The plant, near Soyo, will use ConocoPhillips’ optimised cascade LNG process and will produce LNG, LPGs, such as propane and butane; condensate; and domestic pipeline gas.
