Drilled by Odfjell Drilling’s Deepsea Metro 1, the Jodari-1 well is located about 39 kilometres offshore southern Tanzania and in a water depth of 1150 metres.
Early evaluation of the well, in block 1 offshore the south of the African nation, revealed gross recoverable reserves of between 2.5 trillion and 4.4 trillion cubic feet of gas, BG said.
