CNR said four workers were hurt in the blast. Three were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, including burns. All four are said to be in a stable condition.
Fire fighters are still battling the blaze at the plant, north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
The fuel source of the fire has been isolated and the blaze contained to the coker area, with no site evacuation required.
