French vessel owner Bourbon has been awarded its first pipelay engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract by Total off the coast of Gabon.

Bourbon will carry out the EPCI work on a 25-kilometre, six-inch, rigid pipeline as part of Total’s Hylia water injection project.

Bourbon will subcontract a number of suppliers to help it carry out the contract, including Cortez Subsea for pipelay equipment and Wood Group for the pipeline design and pipelay engineering.

“We are very proud of the trust that Total has placed in us for this first pipelay EPCI contract,” Bourbon’s senior vice president for subsea services, Patrick Belenfant, said.
