BP chief executive Bob Dudley praised the fellow American whohe said “played key roles in critical moments of the company's history”.
Dudley cited the integrations of Amoco and Arco in the late1990s and early 2000s, as well as “guiding BP through the financial challenges”that came in the wake of the Macondo disaster as being among Grote’s most significantachievements.
A member of BP’s board since 2000, 64-year-old Grote held astring of top jobs with the British supermajor over recent decades, most recently as executive vice president for corporate business activities.
BP’s
