The unmanned platform concept, which has hitherto been little used off Norway versus other parts of the North Sea, would provide a cost and production-effective solution to tap shallow-water finds on the country’s continental shelf, according to a study carried out by the Danish engineering consultancy for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
The agency said in a statement it “considers concepts of this type to be an important contribution to good resource utilisation”.
