Cameron LNG, owned in part by Sempra Energy, is now the second terminal fully approved to export LNG in the US after Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant, also in Louisiana.
The DOE decision serves as the coda to the flourish Sempra sounded last February when DOE granted conditional authorisation to export domestically produced LNG to nations that do not have a free trade agreement with the US, including countries in Europe and Asia.
