The newbuild units, Songa Equinox and Songa Endurance, were sidelined due to technical issues having only started operations towards the end of last year after delivery from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
The Equinox had operational efficiency of 73% last month after “unplanned downtime” due to a blowout preventer issue that left it out of action from 22 January to 5 February when it was back on operating dayrate under a long-term charter with the state-owned operator, according to Songa’s monthly fleet update.
