The project consists of two LNG processing trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per year, as well as a domestic gas plant and associated offshore infrastructure including the processing platform, subsea equipment, drilling and an export trunkline.
Speaking at the announcement, Australian resources minister Martin Ferguson said the project would generate A$20 billion in tax revenues over the life of the project and A$17 billion in spending on Australian goods and services.
