SBM said the agreement included detailed engineering and procurement work aimed at producing first gas from the project in 2010. The company said it had also been asked to provide logistics and operation support for the field under a contract expected to run for at least eight years and extendable for a further 12 years.
The company said the deal and another signed with Chinese Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) were worth a combined $950 million.
