As a first project, the duo, through its jointly-owned company Groupement Sonatrach-Agip, aims to build a 10 MW photovoltaic plant on the Bir Rebaa North field, in the north east region of the country.
The goal is to start activities before the end of the year, Eni said, adding that the deal is part of its long-term strategy of “integrating traditional business and energy from renewable sources”.
