The rig is well on its way through the Bay of Biscay en route to Rotterdam, said Fairmount, which added that it did not anticipate that Ensco would use the option extended to it for the Fjord transport vessel.
It was the delayed conversion of the Fjord that caused the late mobilisation of the rig.
Fairmount chief Philip Adkins said: “We are pleased to have been available to Ensco in the event they had called upon us to assist with the transport of the Ensco 100.
