The EWS I-43 probe found more oil on the south-eastern part of the East EWS I field, following on from a successful well drilled in the same area last month.
The latest well flowed 595 barrels per day of water-free oil having hit a Jurassic P reservoir at a depth of 1826 metres, confirming 15.5 metres of net pay.
On completion of testing, the well will be hooked up to existing production facilities.
