The first production well is now online and a second well will start production in the coming weeks, ExxonMobil said.
Drillship Maersk Viking is currently drilling a third well, which is expected to come online in early 2017, the company added.
This initial development phase, which was originally expected to begin in the second half of this year, is tied back via subsea wells to the Chevron-operated Jack-St Malo semi-submersible hub platform.
