The DOJ had intervened against Mobil in a whistle-blower suit, and had previously settled with Burlington Resources for $105.3 million; Anglo-Dutch Shell for $56 million; three units now owned by Chevron for $45.5 million; and Dominion Exploration & Production, a unit of Dominion Resources, for $2 million.
ExxonMobil units to pay $32m
Mobil Natural Gas and Mobil Exploration and Producing, units of ExxonMobil, have agreed to pay $32.2 million to resolve claims that they knowingly under-paid royalties from federal and American Indian leases, the US Department of Justice said today.
