Another two workers went missing after the fire on Friday at the Nezla well in the Gassi Touil region.
The official APS news agency quoted Sonatrach that the company and Repsol had taken measures to control the situation at the well but were continuing to search for the two missing workers.
Sonatrach described the fire as a “technical incident” but said that it was working with Repsol to discover its cause.
