The US-based oilfield services contractor’s local subsidiary FMC Kongsberg Subsea will carry out the engineering, procurement and construction contract under a frame agreement that marks the first subsea award for the field by the German operator.
FMC will deliver a standardised system for Maria - set to be developed as a subsea tieback to the Statoil-operated Kristin, Aasgard B and Heidrun platforms - that will form the basis for future such contracts on other field projects, Wintershall said in a statement.
