The large production structure left Aker Stord yard over the weekend and was being towed by four huge anchor-handling vessels to the field in the northern part of the North Sea.
The platform was due to sail out in May but the tow-out had to be rescheduled due to minor modifications required on its hull.
The platform glitch was among the several ‘unforeseen hitches’ Statoil had to tackle on the project, according to Statoil’s vice president of the Gjoa field development, Kjetel Digre.
