Under the multi-million dollar contract Icon said it would provide conductor tensioning units (CTUs) for jack-ups currently under construction in Singapore.
CTUs apply upward tension on the drilling conductor, the outer tubular which runs from the drilling rig into the seabed, which prevents the conductor from buckling, controls lateral deflection and helps reduce vibration under wave and current loading.
