In a statement released today, Ion, which provides seismic data-acquisition imaging services, said the suit also alleges that WesternGeco misappropriated its proprietary technology, interfered with Ion's customer contracts and breached a confidentiality agreement.
The suit, filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges that WesternGeco's Q-Marine system, components and technology infringe its patent related to steering devices and control systems for marine seismic streamers.
