The agreement with US independent Noble Energy and local partner Delek Group has been hammered out during weeks of negotiations after the government presented an outline proposal in June.
Announcing the deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was quoted by Reuters as saying “the outline will bring hundreds of billions of shekels in the coming years”, adding the agreement will be put to a Cabinet vote on Sunday.
