The well reached its target depth of 1550 metres on time, Kea said, finding a 40 metre interval at about 1400 metres down which contained several reservoir quality sands in the Miocene aged Mount Messenger sands.
The find was in line with pre drill estimates, Kea said, with the company retaining its original estimate of a gross recoverable resource of one million barrels, with a potential upside of up to three million barrels.
