Work to build a composite tailings plant at the oil sands mine has made the relocation or reconstruction of two of three mine trains at the project site necessary, Upstream reported last year.
Under the contract announced today, Kentz will plan and execute all structural, mechanical, electrical, piping and instrumentation work associated with the project.
Kentz will manage the work as general contractor as well as carrying out all electrical and instrumentation work, with the company appointing KBR subsidiary KBR Wabi to execute the mechanical scope of work.
