The proposed project would encompass Centrica’s Frigg Gamma Delta discovery, made in 1986, as well as Krafla where state-owned operator Statoil has made a total of five discoveries since 2011 with total resources of between 140 million and 220 million barrels of oil equivalent.

A spokeswoman for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has confirmed it is examining the possibility of a co-ordinated development of the multiple discoveries as licence holders have so far failed to come up with concrete plans to tap the finds, news site Offshore.no
