Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell has struck a deal to sell its interest in a number of Thai assets, including the Bongkot field, to Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (Kufpec) for $900 million.
Shell revealed Tuesday it would sell two subsidiary companies which hold a 22.222% equity stake in Bongkot and adjoining acreage, consisting of blocks 15, 16 and 17 and G12/48.
Kufpec said in a separate statement the deal would provide it with 68 million barrels of oil equivalent in proved and probable reserves, adding the assets produced roughly 39,000 boe per day in 2016.
