The eponymous field in the Norwegian Sea has been producing since it was brought on stream in 1999 using both the FPSO and Aasgard B semi-submersible processing platform.
Statoil’s northern operations director Torje Saur was reported as saying by local publication Stjordalens Blad the state-owned operator intends to carry out in-situ modifications of the FPSO to enable it to maintain current levels of oil and gas production until 2030, though this was contingent on making further discoveries in the vicinity.
