The company said a reserves report for the Texas field would be briefly delayed while modifications were considered by reservoir engineering company Energy Recovery Concepts.
Following logging and coring operations, Maverick had determined the Groce 182 well had four oil pay zones and two natural gas pay zones, with porosity of between 30% and 32%.
The company said its research indicated that Groce 182 could be more prolific than its Groce 181 well, which flowed light crude at a rate of between 60 to 80 barrels per day when it started production earlier this year.
