Sevan was forced in mid-August to halt operations on a well being drilled by the cylindrical unit after a control system leak was uncovered on its blowout preventer earlier in the month.
The upper section of the BOP was recovered to the surface, with the rig at the time said to be facing downtime of more than 25 days.
On Monday Sevan said the rig will be out of action for a number of weeks as, although the original issue with the BOP has been rectified, “the BOP tensioner support systems still needs further repair and replacements prior to operation”.
