The PL15-2 structure is located eight kilometres south of PL9-1, with the PL15-2-1 discovery well finding oil pay zones of about 83 metres in total thickness and producing an average rate of over 1200 barrels of oil per day.
CNOOC also announced appraisal well PL9-1-5 on the original structure had found oil pay zones with a total thickness of over 200 metres.
