The UK Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) has launched a search for operators to take part in a pilot programme aimed at cutting the cost of plugging and abandoning (P&A) wells.
OGA said it is hopes the voluntary initiative – which is set to take place in 2018 and 2019 - will demonstrate that P&A work can be made cheaper by sharing of work and adopting improved execution and contracting models.
