The high-specification jack-up, based on PPL’s proprietary Pacific Class 400 design, is due for delivery in July 2014, while a possible second unit would be delivered in the second quarter of 2015 at a cost of $210 million if the option is exercised.
The rig, including an accommodation unit, would be capable of operating in water depths of up to 400 feet and drilling to a depth of 30,000 feet.
