The deal, finalised on 22 February, includes a mobilisation fee for the rig, which had worked with ExxonMobil offshore Terengganu up until January this year.
The Tioman T-9 self erecting tender rig can work in up to 6500 feet of water depth with pre-laid mooring, SapuraCrest said, adding that the award would contribute positively to the company’s 2012-2013 group earnings.
The contract also has another 12-month extension option from its 1 April 2012 start date, SapuraCrest said.
